My Roles:
Studio Director | Location Camera Operator | Script Editor
As part of the Programme Level Assessment for my film course at Leeds Trinity University, I was involved in the production of LTYou Show 2025 — a 30-minute live broadcast created entirely by students within just two weeks. Produced in the university’s television studio, the show is an annual showcase of our cohort’s teamwork and skills in media production.
Our team chose to create an arts and culture special, spotlighting student-friendly activities and creative spaces across Leeds. I took on the role of studio director during the live broadcast and co-led the studio crew alongside producer Evie Topham. I also worked closely with our presenters to plan and refine the live script, ensuring it met professional broadcast standards.
Beyond the studio, I operated the camera for several pre-recorded segments, including interviews, b-roll, and pick-up shots for packages being produced by our dedicated VT team.
The final show featured six on-location segments across Leeds, five pre-recorded interviews, and two live in-studio interviews with filmmaker Ricardo Barker and Leeds Film Festival representative Eleanor Hodson. We also included a musical performance by local artist Max Ryan, filmed in advance.
The project was a valuable hands-on experience in live production, and we were all incredibly proud of the final broadcast and what we achieved as a team.
