As the primary project during our placement with Leeds Trinity University’s Media Services, Cally Coxon and I were commissioned to produce an induction video for new university staff. The video was designed to replace an existing PowerPoint presentation and provide a more engaging introduction to the facilities and support offered by the Media Services team.
We were given a detailed brief outlining the required content and messaging. While balancing this project with several other assignments over our two-week placement, we coordinated with a range of staff—many of whom had limited availability — requiring careful planning and scheduling.
Cally led the voiceover recording, music selection, and graphics, but when they became unwell partway through production, I took on responsibility for completing the project. This included filming staff and facilities, capturing screen recordings of relevant digital platforms, and editing the final video.
Our placement supervisor was extremely pleased with the outcome, noting that the video met all expectations and guidelines. It has since been adopted as the official induction resource for all new Leeds Trinity University staff.
